The Northern Ireland Potato Festival Committee is a voluntary group who were formed in 2013 with the following objectives:



1. Organise an annual community festival focusing on our potato heritage which will appeal to all ages, backgrounds and all abilities;


2. Tell the story of the role the potato has played in our history and culture;


4. Encourage tourism to the Causeway Coast and Glens area through our shared potato heritage and culture;


5. Celebrate the achievements of John Clarke, a pioneer potato breeder, who was born and lived most of his life in North Antrim;


6. Increase awareness of other Irish potato breeders;


7. Educate people on the health benefits of eating potatoes and to encourage young people to become involved in our food industry;


8. Make the public aware of the different potato varieties, their cultivation, cooking qualities and taste;


9. Promote all aspects of the Northern Ireland potato industry
